OUR STORY

What started out with a simple idea to renovate a 1960’s Franklin caravan to sell a few ice creams on the beach turned out to be far more than that. Inspired by childhood with flavours of our ice cream had to come from authentic, real and whole ingredients and, a reimagined van!

Merciers has lived and breathed the gelato caravan concept full-time since 2015 in Jervis Bay. We’ve been enjoying the crowds from Huskisson the Summer and the ‘regulars’ who are part of the local community. Merciers Gelato and Coffee has become an iconic ‘must do experience’ for visitors and a daily ritual for holidayers and locals.

SPECIAL EVENTS & FESTIVALS

In addition to the pop up stop and truck, Merciers Gelato and Coffee offers a 1954 Silver Carapark van in the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions which appears regularly at big festival events, weddings and special events.

Our famous gelato caters to all tastes as well as some great vegan flavours to the range and hope you can join us in indulging in our passion for really good gelato and sustainable coffee!

COFFEE ROASTERS

Our van recently added air roasted coffee. We never intended to become Coffee connoisseurs but soon realised our customers were enjoying our brews so much that we became coffee roasters!

There are 2 reasons we became our own coffee roasters:
We can roast the highest quality Coffee beans and we pay a few extra bucks and source the highest rated organic coffee beans in the World.

We are the first in Australia and so far the only Roaster to have the Smithsonian bird institute certification and we are enormously proud of this. We roast daily using an air roasting process that sorts out the nasty stuff and roasts a pure tasting coffee bean. We supply to cafes too. You can purchase online or from our caravan in Huskisson and take home your own organic Merciers Coffee knowing you are saving rainforests and drinking ethically and sustainably.
